College Credit

 

College Credit Through Child Start

Child Start Professional Development workshops are now recognized for college credit. To participate, a student takes eight level-3 workshops in the course of a program year. At the end of the program year, he or she will submit these workshops, along with tuition, to be converted into one college credit hour.

Butler County Community College

Enrollment

Students enroll in the school of their choice and pay applicable fees or tuition. Enrollment will be early in the semester in which the last workshop is completed (by February 1st for Spring semester).

Our program year runs from August 1st to June 31st
 
Level 3
All our workshops are assigned a level according to the KS and MO core Competencies. Level-3 classes meet the criteria for college level instruction.

College Credit

The course counts as an elective in early childhood education and will be ungraded (P/NC). Ungraded courses generally do not transfer from institution to institution. Therefore, choose the institution carefully depending on your objectives.
