POSITION:            Classroom Alternate

LOCATION:           Head Start Centers

HOURS:                40 hrs/wk, 44 wks/yr

SALARY:               $9.53 per hour

REQUIRES:  Child Development Associate Degree (CDA) or other early childhood education.  Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. One year experience in a pre-school environment or elementary school environment.  Must pass physical screening and negative TB test.  Will complete Food Handlers Card, CPR and First Aid Training within 60 days of employment.  Must be able to work flexible hours, ranging anywhere from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

DUTIES:      Assist in providing a warm, constructive and non-threatening environment with age-appropriate activities for children up to five (5) years of age.  Assist with necessary classroom record keeping tasks. Help set up and tear down classroom.  Other Classroom Alternate duties as assigned.
